§ 46-101. Intent and scope.

  • (a)

    It is the intention of the board of commissioners in enacting this article to provide for uniform collection of solid waste in the unincorporated area of the county; to provide for the uniform prohibition throughout the unincorporated area of the county of any and all littering on public or private property, and to curb thereby the desecration of the beauty of the county which is harmful to the health, welfare and safety of its citizens.

    (b)

    This article shall govern the use of the county landfill including, but not limited to: permit procedures; use of permits; insurance requirements; transportation rules; credit policies; etc. As of the effective date of the ordinance from which this article is derived, all haulers disposing of waste at the county landfill who are under contract with the county and have fulfilled all the permit procedure requirements, will be permitted to discharge the waste provided for in their respective contract at the county landfill.
