The purpose of the preliminary plat is to provide the development officer, the health
department and other reviewing parties an opportunity to review the proposed subdivision
for compliance with design standards, utility easements, flood hazard potential, adequacy
of the lot size for septic tank use, soil erosion control measures and the adequacy
of a potable water supply. Such review and approval shall in no way be limited to
only those issues identified in this section or relieve the developer from compliance
with the requirements of this chapter or of other ordinances, laws, rules and regulations.
