  § 24-10. Penalties for violation of Code section.

  • (a)

    Alarm users of household alarm systems found to be in violation of this section shall be fined as follows:

    (1)

    For the third false alarm that occurs at the same premises within any calendar year, a fine shall be assessed in an amount specified from time to time by resolution adopted by the board of commissioners.

    (2)

    For the fourth false alarm that occurs at the same premises within any calendar year, a fine shall be assessed in an amount specified from time to time by resolution adopted by the board of commissioners.

    (3)

    For the fifth and each subsequent false alarm that occurs at the same premises within any calendar year, a fine shall be assessed in an amount specified from time to time by resolution adopted by the board of commissioners.

    (b)

    Registered alarm users of commercial alarm systems found to be in violation of this section shall be fined as follows:

    (1)

    For the third false alarm that occurs at the same premises within any calendar year, a fine shall be assessed in an amount specified from time to time by resolution adopted by the board of commissioners.

    (2)

    For the fourth false alarm that occurs at the same premises within any calendar year, a fine shall be assessed in an amount specified from time to time by resolution adopted by the board of commissioners.

    (3)

    For the fifth and each subsequent false alarm that occurs at the same premises within any calendar year, a fine shall be assessed in an amount specified from time to time by resolution adopted by the board of commissioners.

    (c)

    Unregistered alarm users of commercial alarm systems found to be in violation of this section shall be fined as follows:

    (1)

    For the first false alarm that occurs at the same premises within any calendar year, a fine shall be assessed in an amount specified from time to time by resolution adopted by the board of commissioners.

    (2)

    For the second false alarm that occurs at the same premises within any calendar year, a fine shall be assessed in an amount specified from time to time by resolution adopted by the board of commissioners.

    (3)

    For the third and each subsequent false alarm that occurs at the same premises within any calendar year, a fine shall be assessed in an amount specified from time to time by resolution adopted by the board of commissioners.

    (d)

    False alarms shall not be counted for purposes of assessing the penalties provided in this section so long as such false alarms occur within ten days following the installation of the household alarm system.
